How to sound collaborative
Design critique is partly about taste, but interviews reward humility. Useful phrases include:
- “My hypothesis is…”

- “This may be intentional, but the tradeoff seems to be…”

Common traps

The second trap is focusing only on visuals. Visual hierarchy matters, but product usability also depends on information architecture, defaults, copy, performance, error recovery, and trust.
